The school is a small rural school fifteen minutes North of Gore. In 2018, the school has been a sole-charge school, and the board of trustees and the Otama community are eager to support the continued growth of the school.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for, by negotiation, teaching either a small junior (NE–Y4) or small senior class (Y5–8), alongside whole-school teaching responsibilities as required. Full-time/part-time negotiable.

Currently, the school has 10 students, and we expect to begin next year with 12. The board of trustees aim to make use of our resources to grow our roll rapidly over the next year. By 2020, we wish to have sufficient staffing entitlement to hire a permanent classroom teacher.

We are a well-resourced Enviroschool with great community support and individualised programmes that allow all students to excel.

Beginning teachers are most welcome to apply and will be well-supported by the board of trustees. We are flexible regarding start dates and days/hours worked per week.

Please email to arrange a school visit, or send your CV directly.
