We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our committed team of teachers in this dynamic early childhood centre on Waiheke Island.

We are a mixed-age, community centre licensed for 30 children per day. Our centre operates Monday to Friday, from 7.30am–5pm, during school term and school holidays.

Our centre location is within close proximity to both primary and high schools.
We have a position available for a teacher who is either recently graduated or currently enrolled in their third year of study into a Level 7 ECE qualification which will lead to teacher registration. We offer consistent management support, competitive remuneration, regular professional development, weekly non-contact time and great support and guidance for provisionally registered teachers. The right person needs to be energetic and enthusiastic and a team player, who has strong communication, organisation and planning skills. You will need a deep understanding and passion for outdoor education to be considered for this role, as a defining feature of our programme is Bush School and Beach School, which promotes and develops a child’s relationship with the natural world.

  • Ability to contribute to the professional reputation of the centre
  • Demonstrate a passion for and a commitment to teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality learning outcomes for children
  • Commitment to quality teaching and learning
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member positively and proactively
  • Be confident in communicating with parents.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Only successful applicants will be contacted to arrange further discussion.

We offer NZEI collective agreement benefits.
