6 month secondment or fixed-term opportunity.

Lead our playgroup services!

About us:

For 100 years, we at AKA have been delivering exceptional educational services to our city's youngest learners from diverse backgrounds and of all learning abilities. At AKA, we are proud of our history and we are looking for an experienced teacher or head teacher who is looking for a unique opportunity as our playgroup manager for a 6 month fixed-term secondment, starting in early October.

Our 107 kindergartens across the Auckland region are unique to other early learning centres – we call it the 'Kindergarten Difference'.

About the role:

Primarily working in communities, the playgroup manager is responsible for ensuring our playgroups provide high-quality early learning experiences for young children and their families. Supporting the day-to-day operations of the playgroups includes managing and supporting each playgroup coordinator and overseeing the resourcing and financial management of the playgroups.

A key part of the role is strengthening and maintaining the link with host schools, local community agencies and services, as well as establishing new playgroups, so excellent relationship building and networking skills are vital. Your ability to encourage, lead and motivate will be important in supporting the implementation of parent engagement programmes in the playgroups.

Experience working with young children and their parents/whānau and with diverse community groups is necessary. You will have an ECE teaching qualification with relevant experience in an ECE setting.

If this role interests you, and you would love to join a great team in a friendly, supportive workplace that offers the intrinsic reward of working for a well-respected charitable organisation, apply now!
