We are a locally owned and operated service based in Rolleston. We offer kindergarten and OSCAR services alongside our home-based service to support our local community.

We are a well-established service with a community and whānau-based practice embedded in our pukeko philosophy. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a service with a great reputation for providing excellent outcomes for educators, children and families.

We are looking for an experienced, NZ ECE diploma or degree qualified teacher to join our home-based early learning team. This role combines opportunities to mentor educators, visiting with the children in the educators' homes and being involved in facilitating child-led play and learning.

The role also includes a strong marketing aspect. We expect that you are actively promoting our services within the community and local child groups so a confident person with an eye for growth is a huge advantage.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience in the home-based early childhood sector will be an advantage
  • Experience in working with adults would be an advantage
  • Current teacher certification (can be provisional or fully registered)
  • We are looking for a ‘self-starter’ with proven leadership skills, a sense of humour, and excellent organisation and IT skills
  • A sound understanding of current early learning pedagogical practice
  • A genuine desire to see children thrive in the home-based environment
  • Self-motivation and a positive focused approach
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor educators/nannies whilst they are working in their roles
  • You will need to be able to ‘think on your feet’ and have excellent knowledge of Te Whāriki and child development
  • Knowledge of internal evaluation
  • A current first aid certificate and a clean, full NZ driver’s licence.
