Our centre is conveniently located in Kaiwharawhara, providing a hub of early childhood care and education for families from throughout the greater Wellington region. Catering for up to 100 children across four rooms, the centre has a leadership team of four head teachers, supported by a full-time centre administrator and a resident cook. The amazing outlook over Wellington Harbour provides limitless opportunities for children to learn about the environment they are connected to – planes, trains and automobiles as well as the ocean, sky and hills.

This role involves leading and managing the centre team to ensure the highest standards of early learning and care are maintained.

As the manager, you will role-model excellent leadership qualities, inspiring and motivating others to do the same. Alongside this, you’ll be responsible for meeting administrative expectations, compliance requirements and striving to achieve financial performance targets.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A passion for building meaningful relationships with children and families
  • A drive to provide learning opportunities that extend beyond the centre, out into the wider  community
  • An ability to set 'big picture' direction, while making sure the day-to-day details are attended to
  • Sound business acumen and competence in IT applications and social media utilisation
  • A real vision as to what you would like to achieve as the leader of a successful centre
  • A BEd/ DipTch Level 7 (ECE) and current certification
  • Success in educational management or leadership.

If you’re ticking all these boxes, we would love to hear from you!

You'll be well-supported by regular visits and communications from our of business and professional services managers, with ongoing training and development opportunities within the region and nationally. Your efforts will be rewarded through a competitive salary, subsidised medical, childcare, and career advancement opportunities.
