We are a leading Anglican independent school situated in Hamilton that has a commitment to providing education of the highest quality for its 740 students.

Our school is a well-resourced day and boarding school with a reputation for high academic achievement. We are boys only in Y9–10 and co-ed in Y11–13. The school has a national profile for innovation, is a leader in agribusiness education and operates an outdoor experience for its Y10 students for 6 months at its Tihoi Venture Campus on the western side of Lake Taupo.

We seek a passionate, innovative and skilled teacher with the ability to teach painting and art design up to NCEA Level 3 (the ability to teach Scholarship would also be highly regarded).

Our students consistently achieve well above the national average in NCEA and regularly receive outstanding results – most senior courses have a 100% pass rate (for both the internal and external standards) and the majority of the students enrolled in these courses gain course endorsements.

Currently, we are working on a Google platform and use the Adobe Creative Suite applications – Photoshop and Illustrator – as tools for producing our digital artwork: prior experience working with these applications is required. Support for and involvement with the school’s extensive co-curricular programme is also expected of all applicants.

A competitive remuneration package is on offer, including Teacher Salary Scale and the St Paul’s Allowance. With relatively small class sizes and very motivated and self-disciplined students, staff enjoy the added benefits of working in the park-like grounds and are provided with cooked lunches during term times.

The start date for this role is ideally term 1, 2019 but this is negotiable.
