Our high school is on an exciting change journey with students at the centre of our work. Wrapped around our students is a Korowai that embodies: a creative learning culture that is physically and emotionally safe; an innovative curriculum that integrates Te Ao Māori; a community that is actively engaged in student achievement; and the supporting of teachers to become educational leaders. 

The primary goal of this position is to lead the development and implementation of structures and systems to empower and support students' wellbeing, and involvement in learning and the wider school, to achieve personal success. The DP is responsible to the principal and has the primary responsibility for student engagement. The DP is a key member of the school’s senior leadership team (SLT). The high school is committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the overarching objectives of the NZ education strategies.

The DP – student engagement is required to teach one 4 hour/week class.
