We are looking for a forward-thinking teacher to join our team for 2018. This role is to be designed with the successful applicant's strengths in mind. Think 'creatively changing the way we provide visual arts'. Having an interest in music and/or performing arts will also be an advantage.
The applicant will be familiar with the NZ visual arts curriculum in disciplines of design, drawing, painting and ceramics. Skills in teaching historical and contemporary art contexts will be sought to underpin practical process delivery.
A person who has a strong empathy with students from a variety of cultures, particularly Māori culture, and a variety of backgrounds, is imperative.
The successful applicant will have good time management, effective planning and reporting strategies and will effectively manage a budget for art.
You will effectively work in a team, and contribute to collaborative teaching approaches. You will also be willing to contribute to the school extracurricular programmes and events, and to the wider community.
