Our kura is NZ's largest school. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood level to NCEA Level 3, including young adult and adult learners.

We are leaders in online pedagogical approaches. Kaiako at our kuras work collaboratively and have opportunities to access professional learning and development to support their professional goals and our strategic and regional initiatives.

The Southern region is seeking a kaiako who will have a responsibility for the teaching of a class of students in our online teaching environment. Our students all work from an individual learning plan and teachers engage in authentic learning programmes covering the key competencies and curriculum areas. Strengths in working with learners with diverse needs required.

It is essential that you have a sound knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and assessment requirements and are willing to learn, innovate, work collaboratively and build effective relationships. There will be opportunities to engage with students through our regional advisories and event days.

You'll be future-oriented and understand how the use of technology, together with your enthusiasm, vision and commitment improves education outcomes for all our students, Māori and Pasifika learners in particular. Key dispositions that we are seeking include:
