Our kura is New Zealand's largest school. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood level to Y13, including to young adults and adult learners.

Our vision is to enable our students to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities.

We have a vacancy for a kaiako (teacher) to join the Central South Region. We are looking for a kaiako of technology who understands, and is passionate about, ‘Education 3.0’ pedagogy and is able to deliver authentic learning programmes in an increasingly student-directed online environment.

The successful applicant will have

  • An interest in using a variety of online tools to facilitate learning;
  • A sound knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and assessment, alongside current experience in teaching technology at NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3
  • An ability to engage with online learners and build relationships
  • An ability to work collaboratively as part of the technology teaching team
  • A willingness to engage with new ideas
  • An ability to utilise IT student management and data systems
  • An interest and knowledge of robotics, coding and programming would be advantageous
  • Please state other teaching subjects

To build strong relationships and assist students in their learning you will have the opportunity to meet students regularly at our advisories in the Central South Region.
