Affiliated with the Anglican Church of NZ, our college is one of the leading independent secondary schools in NZ. It has a proven record of academic excellence, strong commitment to pastoral care, and offers a wide range of sports, service, cultural and co-curricular activities. Health, wellbeing, positive education, character and leadership are key influencers on all college programmes. The college is dedicated to achieving its mission: Each boy at his best. It is a school where boys thrive.

We believe in professional advancement and, as a result of internal appointments, this role is now available.

Boarding has a long and proud history at the college, and we take our duty of care very seriously. The deputy boarding housemaster works closely with the boarding housemaster and other members of the college boarding and pastoral teams to create a positive and supportive “home away from home” for the boys, helping to oversee the everyday life of the house and responsible for all aspects of house culture, tone and experience for students, parents and staff.

They must have excellent communication skills, be able to relate to many different people, and have empathy and sensitivity to all. They must be prepared to contribute to the co-curricular activities of the school and support the weekend boarding programme.

The remuneration and superannuation package is above state sector levels and reflects the nature of working in an independent school. Deputy Boarding Housemasters are required to live on site and rent free accommodation is provided. Medical insurance is also provided after a qualifying period.
