We are looking for an experienced, qualified early childhood teacher to join our home-based early learning team on a full-time basis as a visiting teacher.

Our visiting teachers work with home-based educators to provide professional leadership, coaching and support. They are responsible for training and induction of new educators, and ensuring positive learning outcomes for tamariki.

Visiting teachers also promote Barnardos early learning services to families and whānau in their region and assist with promotional activities and strategic business development.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • An early childhood teaching qualification
  • A current full practising certificate
  • Experience in leading adults, including mentoring and coaching
  • A genuine desire to see children thrive
  • A sound understanding of early learning pedagogical practice
  • Self-motivation with planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A first aid certificate and unrestricted driver’s licence.
