Nestled in the beautiful seaside town of Plimmerton, 20km north of Wellington, our school enjoys a unique combination of village life with advantages of close proximity to city life. Our students and staff have great pride in their school and community, including their local Ngati Toa marae, the original settlement of Hongoeka. Students are confident, engaged learners who are achieving their potential. We have a dedicated, passionate team of teachers and parents who are interested and actively involved.    

Our current focus areas are embedding our digital learning strategy, implementing a schoolwide accelerated maths and literacy programme and working with local schools in a Community of Learning.   

We value collaboration across our four syndicates with a focus on best practice within a teaching as inquiry framework.

The deputy principal will have responsibility for leading and evaluating designated school development initiatives, and appraisal and leadership support of delegated teaching team leaders. The deputy principal will also provide up to 2 days of teacher release time per week.

  • You will be an experienced educational leader with extensive and current knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and best teaching practices 
  • You will be results focused and experienced at implementing significant teaching and learning initiatives and evaluating their effectiveness
  • Having led and developed successful teams in the past, you will have the ability to encourage and support leadership through appraisal and coaching for teacher excellence
  • Digital fluency is essential with a forward-thinking and innovative approach to technology.
