A leading independent school situated in Hamilton. With a commitment to providing education of the highest quality for its students, it has a roll of approximately 700 students – of whom almost half are boarders; the school also operates an outdoor experience for its Y10 students near Taupo.
We seek a passionate, enthusiastic, and committed person to join our school in the newly developed role of director of teaching and learning.
Acting as a professional role model, the director of teaching and learning will mentor and coach other teachers and facilitate their professional learning needs, which will lead to playing a significant role in achieving improved educational outcomes for our students.
Reporting to the deputy headmaster – academic and an integral part of the senior leadership group, they’ll also be accountable for the development and implementation of school educational policies, programmes and practices.
Our ideal candidate will be a fully registered (EDUCANZ) and successful teacher who has knowledge of current best-practice standards for the classroom.
They will need significant experience in national assessment and current knowledge of the EDUCANZ registration processes and requirements. Strong IT/digital skills that support quality, learning and assessment practices are essential.
St Paul’s is a well-resourced progressive school, with a reputation for student success and a national profile for innovation. Staff enjoy working in the park-like grounds and are provided with cooked lunches during term times.
This is an exciting educational leadership opportunity not to be missed. Background information on the school can be obtained by emailing Kathryn Conaghan, HR and H and S coordinator.
We are looking for someone to ideally start from term 4, however, this is negotiable.
