We need to move toward partnerships based on mutual respect, equality and sensitivity.” Tonia Goodhard (in Stonehouse 2003)
This workshop will explore the parent/teacher relationships within your centre and inspire you to employ positive and real parent/teacher interactions, creating an environment of mutual and genuine respect, trust and partnership.
Performance review is looking back on practices and asking ourselves, ‘Why do we do what we do?’ ‘Are our teaching practices consistent with ‘Our code our standards?’ ‘What is working and what can we improve?' ‘Is the child the centre of our focus?’
Performance appraisal is a process that keeps us thinking and moving forward from a quality perspective.
The very idea of beginning school can be very exciting for some children but can be quite daunting for others. A smooth, fluid, successful transition if often sought. However, what does a ‘successful’ transition look like?
As early childhood education professionals our role is to ensure that we are supporting each child and their family to feel secure and empowered in the process of entering school. This workshop is designed to consider ways in which children’s learning journeys might be enhanced as they move from early childhood education to primary school.
