ANZAC U18 Rowing Regatta in Malta 2025
The First U18 Malta ANZAC rowing regatta was held in April 2023 – a 10 day event featured athletics from Christchurch NZ schools, Australia and Malta.
The event was so successful combining sport, education and local culture - the good news we have locked future rowing to be featured every 2 years in Malta.
I am now looking for high schools wishing to have rowing students participating in April 2025 representing NZ, this great special sporting event, students will be able to spend morning training, visiting special sites in the afternoons, education tours, attending ANZAC Service and in the afternoon compete in the ANZAC rowing events with newly purchased coastal rowing boats -singles, doubles and quads.
The NZ teams (male and females) will be placed in the same village with the Australian teams where a cost package will be developed keeping costs down that will include accommodation, breakfast, two evening meals, site tours, daily lunches, bus pickups and airport transfers (airfares not included) and more..
Planning is now underway for 2025, looking for U18 Rowing females and male teams of 5 to 7 rowers – students can come from more than one school and be supervised by at least one or more combined coach[s] and supporting staff welcomed.
A great opportunity and experience rowing on ANZAC day in Malta where 58,000 wounded ANZACs made their way from Gallipoli to Malta during WWI for hospital treatment - you will be also greeted by NZ consulate in Malta and much more. A journey you will never forget.
