NZQA is developing a new Assessor Practice Tool (APT) to help teachers prepare for the new NCEA Achievement Standards in 2024.
The APT allows teachers to practise making assessor judgements on full samples of student work, after which they will be able to view a moderation panel grade and the reasons for that grade being awarded.
NZQA is testing the APT design and functionality using current Level 3 standards from ten subjects, which includes: Business Studies; Chemistry; Design & Visual Communications; English; Generic Technology; Home Economics (level 2 and level 3); Mathematics with Statistics; Media Studies; Physical Education and Visual Arts.
Teachers are invited to test and give feedback on the APT between 8 May and 16 June.
The APT can be accessed via the link below.. Teachers can gain access using their Education Sector Logon and can contact workshops@nzqa.govt.nz with any questions.
