Calling all environmentally-conscious educators! We want you to participate in Recycling Week 2023!
What is Recycling Week?
Recycling Week is Aotearoa New Zealand's largest national annual campaign for education on recycling and waste minimisation. The week promotes education and awareness of better recycling habits and ways of contributing to a waste-free future in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Participation is free, and self-directed - you know your school best, so while we provide ideas, inspiration and information (as well as access to the daily webinars, quizzes and prizes), it's entirely up to you to decide what to implement.
This year is Recycling Week's 10th year, so it's going to be bigger and better than ever! For educators participation is going to be easier too - this year we have a new Educator's Playbook, designed specifically for education contexts!
Running Recycling Week in your school is an effective way to promote education on waste and recycling to students and staff, getting the whole school community thinking about their waste footprint and how to minimise it.
Who can get involved?
Businesses, schools, and institutions (of all sizes) from around Aotearoa New Zealand can register to participate! We also engage with individuals through our social media channels.
Last year 35+ schools participated (ranging from primary to tertiary level), so we're looking to get even more schools involved this year!
When is Recycling Week?
Recycling Week takes place every year in October, and this year the dates are October 16–22. While this seems like a long time away, we all know that good things can take time.
If you and your school are interested in taking part in Recycling Week, please register or contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions, we'd love to hear from you!
