These courses are intended to support teachers to develop mathematical content knowledge and adapt mathematical tasks to implement in the classroom. Participants will have the opportunity to work with colleagues/other teachers to:

  • Develop understanding of the big mathematical ideas inherent in each unit of work and each individual task.
  • Contextualise tasks to align with local contexts.
  • Anticipate possible solution pathways students may take for each task.
  • Deepen understanding of teacher mathematical knowledge and inquiry, including the trajectory of understanding across curriculum levels.

In 2023, we will be offering workshops that cover the following strands:

All participants will receive copies of the mathematical task booklets relevant to the strand which provide 10 – 12 mathematical tasks to cover four to five weeks of teaching as well as teacher notes and independent activities.

Cost per course strand - $100 (NZD) excluding GST per person.
