Session #1: Noticing, Recognizing, and Responding

Learning Stories highlight children's strengths in an authentic manner that is meaningful for the parent and child. This class will help you learn to see moments of strength to write about and show you essential aspects to include in your stories.

Learn how using different lenses helps us to understand children's learning at a deeper level. Explore what schemas, dispositions, and values are and how to use them to view children's learning over time.

Session #2: Using strength based approach to learning stories

Learn how to highlight children's strengths in meaningful ways for parents and children. How do we view children's learning, and how do we assess their strengths? How can we learn to see moments of strength to write about? Learn how highlighting strengths helps children develop self-confidence and independence, as well as tips and tricks on how to spot strengths in children.
