Self-efficacy, what is it and how can we use it to improve teacher and student agency? with Chris Wall

Self-efficacy, teacher efficacy and collective teacher efficacy (CTE) have been acknowledged in Hattie's recent research as having a substantial impact on students' achievement - but what contributes to these complex concepts and how can we make change in our classrooms to help our students?

Would you like to have data driven evidence on how to improve self-efficacy in your school? As part of the 2 sessions Chris will gather and analyse data from your school and you will have a chance to co-construct interventions unique to your context.

From a macro to a micro level this course will give you a foundation in self-efficacy and how it relates to both teacher and student agency. In 2020 Chris has worked with Primary and Secondary schools, right from first year teachers to Principals. The course is flexible enough that we can consider interventions at a student self-efficacy level, right up to a whole school collective teacher efficacy level.

Chris will share current educational research, findings from his own research and possible interventions and strategies that can be used to promote positive self-efficacy beliefs.
