Making Maths Count: A series of six full day workshops

A series of 6 full day maths workshops delivered over Terms 1, 2 and 3.

Designed for teachers in years 0-8 who are new to the profession, returning after a career break, overseas-trained or teachers simply wishing to consolidate and refresh their practice. These workshops will support teachers to develop a balanced maths programme including targeted needs-based teaching as well as the use of rich tasks and problem solving.

Workshop 1: Progressions for Number and Assessment Tools

Workshop 2: Getting Started, Planning and Teaching Number Knowledge.

Workshop 3: Addition, Subtraction and Place Value, including using Rich Tasks.

Workshop 4: Multiplication and Division, including using Rich Tasks.

Workshop 5: Fractions and Proportional Thinking, including using Rich Tasks.

Workshop 6: Making Maths Relevant.

Held in 3 locations: Whangarei, Auckland and Hamilton.

Facilitated by Marie Hirst and Dr. Jo Knox

Cost: $175 + GST per workshop or $850+ GST for the complete series of 6 workshops.
