Do you have a connection (past or present) to Swannanoa School in North Canterbury? Then come along to our 150th Anniversary celebrations happening Thurs 21–Sun 24 October! Lots of events and a great chance to connect, celebrate and reminisce culminating in a the main event on the evening of Saturday 23 October 2021.

Thursday 21 October–school and community hangi

Students present the special significance of our dual name.

Friday 22 October–150th official celebrations kick off with pet day

All are welcome to join the pet day, ask the students questions etc. There will be tour guides available tp take you through rooms etc.

Picnic lunch with the community on the school grounds.

Mihi whakatau, VIP speeches & formalities over morning tea, plus ribbon cutting on sculpture & commemorative garden. 

Saturday 23 October - the main event

Afternoon tea:
Mix, mingle and remember over afternoon tea, garden planting, school tours, cake cutting, decade photos taken, record your stories, memorabilia displays and launch of the History of Swannanoa School book.

Mix and mingle with an informal dinner provided by the Home and School committee. Let the MC and quizmaster entertain you with a panel of past students, staff and members of the community as they reflect, share memories, and maybe a few secrets!

Tickets to attend the Saturday evening celebration are $35 per adult
