Notice reference #: 1HANaQ

Government House Wellington is the home of New Zealand's Governor-General. We run tours and programmes for students of all ages. Government House was built in 1910 and has heritage 1 classification. It is a great place to explore civics and citizenship, our changing national identity, history, legacies, service and celebrating volunteers. We have an extensive New Zealand art collection, unique taonga and an extraordinary collection of coats of arms which evolve from being solely British depictions into personal stories of modern identity. Tour enquiries are welcome from groups and individuals. We are happy to work with teachers to tailor a visit to their students' learning needs. ECE, ESOL and tertiary enquiries also welcome.
