Short Courses in Predator Control & Fencing - Level 2 and 3
In terms 2–3, Papa Taiao Earthcare are offering short courses to Y11–13 ākonga all over Aotearoa in Predator Control and Fencing and Wai Restoration.
In these two day courses, with NCEA credits available, ākonga discover the extraordinary endemic biodiversity of Aotearoa and the significance of protecting our species and awa through predator control and fencing. The courses offer hands on, real life skills, as well as getting our rangatahi outdoors, into nature, and in connection with ecology and regeneration. The courses are a fantastic taster of careers in restoration that they may not otherwise know about or consider.
The Predator Control courses include an overnight stay, and both courses can be arranged throughout Aotearoa (you can even combine a course with other schools in your area to meet the minimum number of ākonga required – 15).
Schools can utilise STAR and Gateway funding for these courses. Transport needs to be organised by the school.
