The Footsteps in Ōhinemutu
Join us as we walk around Ōhinemutu village with Rangitiaria Tibble (Te Arawa, Te Whānau a Apanui, Ngāti Porou), to identify the history and genealogy of ngā marae that is embodied in Ōhinemutu – Tangata whenuatanga.
Saturday 15 May, 9am - 4pm
Please bring a packed lunch – morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
Rangitiaria Tibble is an experienced facilitator, who is currently an elected representative for Ngāti Whakaue on Te Tatau o Te Arawa board and a trustee for Te ara ki te reo ki Kuirau (ECE) Charitable Trust.
"Manaakitanga is central to my engagement style as we explore significant sites, kōrero tuku iho and waiata unique to Ngāti Whakaue, and culturally locate ourselves in narratives that can support tamariki to be connected, confident and comfortable in their various learning environments."
