Women in Engineering School Visits
The University of Auckland, Women in Engineering Outreach Programme introduces high school students to the wide range of exciting opportunities in engineering.
Our one hour workshops are run by 3-4 current engineering students which consist of a short presentation and a hands-on activity for up to 30 students. Workshop activities are related to curriculums in physics, maths and coding.
We offer this free opportunity to physics and/or mathematics (with calculus) classes, STEM clubs or groups of students with at least 50% girls present.
We can also do presentation or panel sessions for a larger number of students, or provide subject support during revision and homework/study times. Book in a day and time online that works for you using the link below.
New Zealand (nationwide)
The Global Competence Certificate
The NZ GCC is a 4-6 week course consisting of 18 online modules and 4 'in-person' dialogue sessions facilitated via Zoom. Participants will be equipped with lifelong global 'power skills': collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, open-mindedness, cross-cultural communication, and flexibility. These skills will enable our rangatahi to thrive in multicultural and global environments, work effectively on diverse teams and being active community members.
AFS New Zealand is offering scholarships for students to take part in a web-based intercultural learning programme in 2021.
