Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) Effective Applicant Schools and Models

Looking at SAC, who what where why how effective SAC in schools: Procedures Data, assessment, using alternative evidence, escalating applications, exemplars, from several very successful applicant secondary schools in Auckland. Schools range from decile 1 to decile 8, from 100% alternative evidence, to high Educational Psychologist, SPELD and Level C evidence applications. 

Most of these schools have medium to high Pasifika students. One is a private school with the highest SAC application ratio in New Zealand. Two schools are low decile schools with very high application success. One school a mixed decile school with wealth to poverty complexities.

The presenters are: Learning Support Coordinators, Principals, SENCO and Heads of Learning Support who are walking the talk in the SAC realm.

This PD focusses on successful applications and how we got there, our stories, and how you can understand and escalate your school with applications for SAC.

Schools presenting are: Aorere College, Wesley College, Sacred Heart College, Villa NCEA Academy and Principals from Aorere College and Orewa College.

NZQA will present a free two hour SAC PD before this, mainly South Auckland focused (9–11am). And the Paid presentation by these schools will be from 11am to 4pm.

Venue: Ministry of Education, Botany Office, Unit I, 16 Bishop Dunn Place, Flat Bush, Auckland 2013. Alternatives and safety precautions will be made with COVID safety first.

PD suitable for RTLB, Learning Support Coordinators, LSC, SENCO, Learning Support HOD, Principal Nominees, staff working with SAC students or procedures.
