Foster Kaitiakitanga Through Gardening: Autumn in the Garden Webinar

Day 1 of Governance and Management Series. This workshops looks at what managers, directors and governance groups need to do to comply with being a good employer in Aotearoa/ New Zealand. We build on this to discover what exceptional employers do as this will help to attract and sustain staff. We learn how to write a strategic plan and an annual plan for a service that is robust and relevant. Part of this workshop is to understand evaluation and the role it plays in continuous improvement for governance, management and the service curriculum. Human resources and performance management systems are worked through thoroughly (appointment, performance agreements, professional growth cycles, formal advice and guidance, competency, disciplinary, employment agreements and job descriptions). The day finishes off with a discussion on risk management for ECE governance and management. The learning resources that are free for all participants include a set of job descriptions, performance agreements (appraisal tools and policies/procedures, samples of advice and guidance and competency programmes).
