TOCK visits Christchurch Pre/Primary Schools
Thanks to grateful support from Christchurch City Council Sustainability Fund we are pleased to announce that the fun TOCK Environmental Education Programme is now being delivered to primary and preschools in the Christchurch district following a successful pilot.
This programme is specifically aimed at young children aged 3 to 8 years with the goal of engaging them in caring for our amazing planet Earth in a fun way following the principles of Kaitiakitanga and supports delivery of environmental education as part of the primary and pre school curriculum.
The programme involves an interactive TOCK visit/workshop at your school with songs, captivating storytelling and hands on activities followed by the opportunity to get involved in environmental themed school challenges with prize incentives, school fundraising, free access to TOCK environmental educational resources and ideas specifically aimed at children in this age group.
The school workshops are completely free based on a maximum of 4 individual back to back sessions in the same school.
The programme is funded from February 2021 to December 2021 for the Christchurch area only. Please get in touch to let us know when would be the best time to arrange a TOCK visit.
TOCK the robot and the TOCK education programme are completely local and unique to Christchurch.
If you require any more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Also, you can see some of the work TOCK has been doing at https://www.TOCK.earth/tock-in-schools.
National Schools Pride Week 2020
Celebrating Pride in every school | Whakanuia te uenuku ki ia kura
We’re excited to launch InsideOUT’s first annual National Schools Pride Week campaign, with a range of activities that schools, rainbow diversity groups, students and staff can get involved with in their school!
We hope that by creating opportunities to celebrate and affirm rainbow identities through this campaign we can help reduce the experiences of bullying and distress many of our rainbow rangatahi face, and give these young people an increased sense of belonging in their school communities.
