Maths Warm Ups 1.30–2.45pm

Explore a range of engaging maths starters that develop fluency, reasoning and mathematical language and begin each maths lesson with a buzz.

Basic Facts 1.30–2.45pm

Explore how to achieve fluency with basic facts in meaningful and efficient ways. A selection of basic facts activities will be shared with participants.

Early Place Value 3.30–4.45pm
Explore common misconceptions and how to develop fundamental place value concepts through hands-on activities and effective use of equipment.

Decimal Place Value 3.30–4.45pm

Explore the use of materials (uni-link blocks, deci-pipes, and decimats) to develop sound understanding of decimals and to operate confidently with them.

Measurement 1.30–4.30pm

During this 3-hour workshop, participants will explore the curriculum learning progressions for levels 1-4 and become familiar with a range of resources to help with planning. Participants will be engaged in hands-on, practical activities, and rich tasks will be used to provide assessment opportunities.

A modelled lesson in division 1.30–2.45pm 

The facilitator will model a needs-based division lesson with a group of students using the Strategy Teaching Model. Teachers will then debrief the lesson based on observations.
