World Hearing Awareness Day
800,000 New Zealanders of all ages have a hearing loss.
Every teacher knows of a child who has a hearing problem. 50% all hearing losses are preventable. The white cat is the symbol used by Hearing New Zealand to show support and raise awareness of hearing issues. White cat pins are available from Hearing New Zealand or become your own white cat.
The World Health Organization will be launching the Hearing health roadmap on this day. Events are being organized and published when finalized.
