This workshop sets out to answer a series of questions that arise as schools move to implement a play based learning approach.

This workshop sets out to answer a series of questions that arise as schools move to implement a play based learning approach.

  • What are the key components to a successful play based learning approach?
  • How do you cater for individual needs during play?
  • How do you plan, assess and report to parents on student learning?
  • What are  schemas and urges?
  • How can you invite play and provocations that are meaningful?
  • How is a play based learning environment set up?

At the end of the course participants will:

  • Have a plan in mind of what the  next steps in their context are
  • Understand the non-negotiables in developing a play approach
  • Have knowledge of ways to plan for, assess and report to key stakeholders
  • Understand what urges and schemas are and how to use them
  • Have examples of ways to invite and provoke play with a focus on student interests and developmental needs.
