This workshop takes an in-depth look at the theories of Māori assessment. Documentation, gathering, evidence and analysis of information will form part of this session. We explore socio cultural assessment and look at the practice of assessment for learning, using Te Whatu Pōkeka (A Kaupapa Māori Assessment Framework. Strategies to encourage parent participation in assessment will be discussed.

He Māpuna te Tamaiti: Supporting Social and Emotional Competence in Early Learning. Social and Emotional competence enables children to interact with peers in a variety of ways and contexts and to maintain positive relationships with peers and adults, both of which are critical for future success.
This workshop is for management, team leaders and teachers. We will understand the Tapasā competency framework and learn how to embed the competencies into our systems and practice.
This workshop continues from the previous week, looking at what managers, directors and governance groups need to do when working with their staff.
