Understanding and Cementing Bicultural Practice – 2 Consecutive Evening Sessions

Professional development (PD) New Zealand (nationwide)

Posted: 14 October 2020
Notice reference #: 1HACdt

This workshop begins with a brief look into the links between law and legislation and how this impacts on your practice as a teacher in Aotearoa. Grow your understanding of Te Ao Māori and examine different aspects of the curriculum to reflect an environment where Te Tiriti based practice is the norm. We will determine what a bicultural setting should sound, feel and look like but more importantly – how you can do this together with your teaching team. Discussions will be based on various Kaupapa Māori theories and you will also have the opportunity to unpack Kaupapa Māori principles and relate these to transitions for tamariki, whānau and staff in your own environment.

This workshop is over two consecutive evenings (Monday 2 November and Tuesday 3 November)

Online: 5.30–8.30pm on Tuesday 3 November and Wednesday 4 November.

Cost: $150pp+GST.
