Notice reference #: 1HABRa

Our world during COVID has highlighted the urgent need to teach critical literacy skills in every classroom in Aotearoa.

Following on from the great success of the Critical Literacy Webinar hosted by Educatalysts in June this year, we are thrilled to offer a further innovative PLD opportunity: Ngā Kanohi Hōmiromiro.

The Critical Literacy expert panel consisting of Alana Madgwick, Dr Mike Paki, Associate Professor Susan Sandrettto and Head of English/ Literacy Leader Tara Mei- Lee Ebrahim are offering an online PLD series of 4 one hour zoom sessions spread out over 2 terms.

Between the zoom sessions, participants will keep a reflective journal of strategies trialled in the classroom and receive individualised feedback from a panel expert.

This is a unique PLD opportunity to not only receive expert guidance from a diverse panel but also be a part of a professional learning community of like-minded educators. Resources, strategies, templates will be shared and co-constructed for the use of the participants.

Dates: 18 November, 4pm; 8 December, 4pm; 2 March, 4pm; 6 April, 4pm.

Costs: $350 pp plus GST.

Group discount of $50 per person for more than 1 person from the same school.
