Join us as Rosemilly Piasi-Teaheniu shares her research on the origin of cultural knowledge, teaching, caring and rearing of young children in the island of Kolombangara (Kulangbangara) in the Solomon Islands.   

Rosemilly’s research explored the indigenous cultural caring and teaching pedagogies of young children.  This included how young children chosen to be tribal leaders are taught the collective wisdom of the tribe through storytelling.

Rosemilly completed her research for her Master of Indigenous Studies at University of Waikato in April 2019.
