Engaging Your Whole Team with Te Whāriki–He Whāriki Motuhake

Strengthening curriculum in early childhood

Zoom Workshop - Saturday 5th September
9am–11.30am - via Zoom
Plus – 3 hour centre support (either face-to-face or via Zoom)

This innovative PLD programme will enable pedagogical leaders and kaiako to review their system for assessing individual children linked to intentional teaching. This is an excellent opportunity to motivate your whole team and there will be no limit on numbers enrolling from each centre for the Zoom session.

Follow up visits will be undertaken either via Zoom or face-to-face and we will work alongside those in a pedagogical leadership role to implement the new knowledge.

Assessment data needs to be the basis for planning curriculum experiences that engage children in authentic learning.

Join us online and explore the following areas of practice with us:

  • Identifying the learning that matters here
  • Affirming each child's identity, language and culture
  • Providing a rich curriculum for every child
  • Authentically engaging with parents and whānau
  • Personalising pathways to school and kura.

Strong links will be made to the following documents:
Te Whāriki (2017), Leadership Capability Framework, Our Code Our Standards and Te Ara Poutama.

E hara taku toa i te toa takitahi, he toa takitini
My strength is not as an individual but as a collective.

As we strengthen our understanding of Te Whāriki together,
outcomes for tamariki will improve.
