Time: 12.30–2.45pm

Spend the afternoon exploring tools that will support your practice as a teacher aide. Tools explored are, Immersive reader, Inclusive Math, Dictate, PowerPoint Captions and Presenter Coach. All these tools are free access for learners and staff members in a NZ school.

The days happenings

We will begin with Whanaungatanga and kai,then set the scene for the day. Followed by an introduction to the tools.

There will be time to have a play, with support from facilitators

Ako – Today we will have an opportunity for reciprocal learning. Please give people the opportunity to share their thoughts and mahi.

Whanaungatanga – Make yourself known and build relationships with people in the room. Please make everyone feel welcome.

Wānanga – We are all here to share, learn, kōrero. Beliefs may be different but we respect that we all have something to contribute.

Manaakitanga – We expect everyone to respect each others language, culture and identity. We all have equal opportunities here.

Tangata Whenuatanga – Affirm that Māori learners have a place in Digital Technologies.

Catering will be covered and delicious (we think you deserve to be treated)

There is no minimum skill using a computer. Please bring a device with school email address you can use. It may be helpful to come along with the type of device used with students to support learning.
