Reo-a-Waha: Oral Language Tips and Tools for Teachers
Join Cognition Consultant, Del Costello in this online workshop, Reo-a-Waha: Oral Language Tips and Tools for Teachers.
Technology is an important part of our learner’s world and as educators, it is important that we integrate digital learning into learning pathways. However, many of us still have concerns about the impact of increased digital integration and its impact on learning. As children increasingly type rather than write or verbally communicate, has the reliance on technology pushed oral language skills to the side?
We all know how important oral language is for our learners. It supports social-emotional development, cognitive development and is a defining contributor in academic achievement. As educators, we must take the lead in this space and work to build assessable, explicit and effective ways to integrate oracy into our context in meaningful ways for our learners.
Which is why we are holding two Reo-a-Waha Zoom workshops, for teachers, hosted by Cognition Education’s Oral Language expert, Del Costello.
In this workshop, Reo-a-Waha: Oral Language Tips and Tools for Teachers, you will:
- Gain an understanding of the foundation skills of oral language and what you can do to build these in your learners
- Have a system for explicitly planning for oral language across your learner’s day
- Take away practical ideas that you can get started right away.
This not to be missed if you wish to improve oral language as a foundation skill across your school and lift student achievement. This workshop will be held on the 24 July, 1.30–3pm.
Cost is $25 per person to attend.
