National Beep Beep! Day Wednesday 6 May

Projects and programmes New Zealand (nationwide)

Posted: 05 March 2020
Notice reference #: 1HA68c

Beep Beep! Days are fun road safety days for 2–7-year-olds, teaching them some basic, key road safety messages such as holding hands, sitting in a car seat, and wearing a helmet on a bike or scooter.

It's a great way to engage children with the road safety basics through fun activities, whilst also raising awareness among parents and the wider community about protecting children on roads.

It's free to join in, and everyone who registers for Beep Beep! Day will receive an e-action pack of resources such as posters, activity sheets, participant certificates and more.

Brake has partnered with Aardman Animations to run our national days with Timmy Time, using Timmy and his friends in our resources. Timmy's youth and inexperience make him the perfect character to help very young children learn important lessons about road safety.

As Timmy and his friends head off to kindergarten they have lots to learn about the important things in life, including caring for other people and 'doing the right thing'.

If the national date doesn't suit you, you can also run your Beep Beep! Day at any time of year.

If you work with 2 to 7-year-olds, find out more and register at www.brake.org.nz/beepbeepday.
