We are delighted to introduce 2 very special issues of Toitoi celebrating young New Zealanders' connections with the Asia-Pacific.

These bumper journals showcase stories, poems and art by young Kiwi creatives ages 5–14. All of the writing in the journals has been translated into the languages of the regions, creating multilingual publications in English and 14 other languages.

The cover artwork was created by the incredibly talented artist Scarlet Connor, age 12.

These special issues will be delivered free to every school and public library in New Zealand over the next few weeks. They are accompanied by teacher support materials chock-full of ideas for exploring the languages and cultures of Southeast Asia and Latin America.

This project has been a year in the making and is thanks to an awesome collaboration between Toitoi, the School of Languages and Cultures at Victoria University of Wellington and the Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence for Latin America and Southeast Asia. We are also thrilled to have the support of the National Library of New Zealand.
