Aotearoa Youth Declaration is UN Youth’s flagship Civics Education conference giving rangatahi a platform to learn and discuss the issues faced across Aotearoa.
Open now for registration.
Care about your community and the future of Aotearoa? Want to make a meaningful difference? This April, join over 300 rangatahi from across Aotearoa in Auckland to address some of the biggest challenges this country is facing.
In rōpū guided by expert facilitators, high school participants will create action plans to address issues in a broad range of areas. These discussions are supported by workshops, outreach trips, social events and industry speaker sessions. The culmination of this is the Aotearoa Youth Declaration, a youth policy document to inform decision-makers of the rangatahi vision for the future of Aotearoa.
Participants will spend four days learning about a specific topic of interest, understanding our democracy, tikanga Māori, identity in Aotearoa, what it means to be an active citizen, and how to be a change-maker! Participants return to their communities with the skills, empowerment and inspiration to bring about meaningful change.
Participant applications are currently open, and will close on the 7 February at 11.59pm. Students will be able to apply for equity scholarships to cover the cost of their attendance during the registration process, and can also apply to our Regional Delegation- our accomodation care service.
