Developing an integrated curriculum is essential to the future of education. Currently, teachers are struggling under the “overcrowded” curriculum as they seek to deliver programmes of learning that meet all the expectations of schooling in the 21st century. This wānanga will focus on the kaupapa of leading an integrated curriculum, using the experiences of Amesbury School as a reference point for exploration and Piritahi Marae, and Te Ao Māori as lived experiences of integration of place. This immersive course will model the very integration we will be exploring. You will learn in a variety of ways including stories, presentations, examples, collaboration, experiences, reflections and coaching leadership.
You will leave the course with greater knowledge and understanding of leading an integrated curriculum, an increased commitment to actually doing it, and a plan to get started or keep going and some tools and resources to help you.
