Down Syndrome: Success in School
Providing basic information and skills specific to educating students with Down syndrome
We present our ‘Down Syndrome – Success in School’ course twice a year. This is a 2-day course for SENCO’s, teachers, teacher aides, specialist staff, occupational therapists and parent educators.
Presenters (including Dr Jude MacArthur) cover a variety of topics including:
- Learning profile and behaviours
- Using visuals to assist children
- Narrative assessment.
We will also have an adult who has Down syndrome share about her own school experience.
Each day starts at 8.30am and finishes at approximately 3.45pm.
Our next course will be held on 2 and 3 March 2020 at Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre. The cost is $350 (GST inclusive) per person. Morning and afternoon tea and lunch provided.
This course has been run by ADSA since 2008.
