Overseas Trained Teachers - Introduction to Aotearoa/New Zealand Day
For all OTTs starting their Aotearoa/New Zealand teaching experience in February 2020 (teaching Y1–13).
To assist OTTs who have just arrived in Aotearoa/New Zealand and are finding their way around life and schooling in Aotearoa/New Zealand, we are offering an introduction to:
- Key information about living and teaching in Aotearoa/New Zealand
- the structure of the NZ schooling system
- Basic te reo Māori
- What OTTs should expect from an induction and mentoring system in their school.
Participants will get the opportunity to network and socialise throughout the day, which will start at 9am and conclude following a social hour at 5pm.
More specific details about the venue and content of the day will be emailed a week before the workshop.
