Kolombangara is a heavily forested island with few inhabitants. It is part of the Islands of the nation state of Solomon Islands in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. Rosemilly’s research explored the indigenous cultural caring and teaching pedagogies of young children. This included how young children chosen to be tribal leaders are taught the collective wisdom of the tribe through storytelling.
