Balancing Learning and Assessment – Two Sides of the Same Coin

Conference / AGM New Zealand (nationwide)

Posted: 11 November 2019
Notice reference #: 1HA1uM

The New Zealand Assessment Institute (NZAI) is running a full-day seminar in 2020: Balancing Learning and Assessment – two sides of the same coin.

Our seminar theme of balancing assessment and learning arises from current discussions about the role of assessment in learning. Questions like, 'Are we over-assessing?' 'How much is enough assessment?', 'Are we assessing the ‘right’ things?', 'How do we empower our students in assessment?' are troubling educators. Come and hear educational experts – from classroom practitioners, to researchers and educational agencies give insights on how to address such questions.

Keynote speaker: Associate Professor Mary Hill, University of Auckland

Location: Auckland

Date:  23 April, 2020.

The seminar is relevant for all education professionals interested in assessment – primary and secondary teachers, senior leaders, teacher educators, professional development providers, researchers, policy makers, and initial teacher education students.

Further information including registration will be available soon at www.nzai.org.nz/events-seminars.
