The Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland has a one-time doctoral scholarship designated for an outstanding new, full-time applicant in the area of dialogic education.

The successful applicant will engage with the newly formed Dialogic Education Network in the faculty, led by Professor Ian Wilkinson and Dr Maree Davies.

  • Valued at NZ$27,900 per year
  • Open to qualified PhD applicants who have been accepted into the doctoral programme before 1 March 2020
  • Closing date is 1 February 2020.

An ideal research focus might include:

  • Discourse and learning in New Zealand classrooms
  • Dialogic pedagogy in early childhood settings
  • Collaborative argumentation in primary years schooling
  • Teacher professional learning and development in dialogic pedagogy
  • Automated analysis of classroom discourse
