The Competencies – Auckland Based Workshop
Competence has become essential, both from an education perspective and in preparing our young people for the complex communities that they will be living and working in. The competencies also underpin the ability learner to become a lifelong learner.
These competencies enable learners to take increasing agency over their own learning.
The OECD will assess the Global Competencies via the international PISA assessment program from 2018 onwards.
Each of the five competencies has been broken down into their constituent concept frameworks, and then each of these is developed across five developmental levels. Simple reflective assessments and prediction statements have been added for each concept that is learned.
